Why manual repricing always loses
The Takealot Buy Box isn't decided once a day — it changes hands around the clock. While you sleep, a competitor drops R2 and the Buy Box moves. By the time you notice the next morning, a night's worth of traffic is gone. A human cannot out-watch an algorithm; that's a structural gap, not something diligence closes.
How the repricing engine works
Dynamic cadence for hot listings: Intervals flex between 30 minutes and 6 minutes based on how contested a listing is — hot items are tracked tightly, quiet ones don't burn cycles. Most tools on the market run a fixed 1-hour or 30-minute loop.
The margin floor is a hard constraint: You set the minimum acceptable margin per product and the algorithm competes only above that line. If the Buy Box can't be won profitably, it isn't chased — the system will never trade you into a loss-making order.
Winning isn't the same as underselling: When you already hold the Buy Box, the engine tests upward to the highest price that still holds it — not a race to the bottom, but maximum margin on a winning position.
Thousands of SKUs at once: Whether you list 50 products or 5,000, they all run under the same rule set — no per-item hand-holding.
Beyond price: why the profit number is trustworthy
Repricing is only as good as your cost data. Huiguang ERP computes net profit using the exchange rate of the order's actual settlement day, minus volumetric-weight international freight and handling, minus the real amount you paid on 1688 or Pinduoduo. Your margin floor therefore rests on real books, not a guess.
Frequently asked
Can automated repricing push me into a loss?
No. Every product carries the margin floor you define, and the engine only bids above it. If winning the Buy Box would require breaching that floor, the system stands down for that round rather than selling at a loss.
Do I need to hand over my Takealot account password?
No. Huiguang ERP connects only through Takealot's official Seller API Key, which you generate yourself in the Seller Portal. Its scope is explicit and it can be revoked in one click — we never touch your portal login. Be wary of any tool that asks you to sign in with your Seller Portal credentials directly.
How quickly does it take effect?
Product data pulls the same day you bind your API Key. Once you set margin floors and switch repricing on, the first adjustment happens within minutes.
