Product Notes & Custom Tags: Auto-Tag Purchased / 辉光选品, Add to Bidding by Tag — One Thread from Catalogue to Purchasing
Product Management gains Notes and custom Tags: write and tag inline. Products you've purchased get an automatic 「采购过」 tag; listings from Auto Select get 「辉光选品」. Then filter products by tag, add to bidding by tag in one click, and filter the Purchasing Centre the same way — no more Excel sheets or mental lists for which batch is which.
Once the catalogue grows, products turn into one big stew: which ones came from Auto Select, which you've already purchased, which need bidding watched — all held in someone's head or a side spreadsheet. 辉光ERP gives every product a note and tags — written on the row, travelling with the SKU, usable from bidding through purchasing.
What this feature does for you
- Inline notes, up to 500 characters: the product list ships with a Notes column; open the Popover, write, save. The note is ERP-side truth — store reconciliation sync will not wipe it. Write "fragile — open carefully" or "do not follow-sell this SKU" and it is still there next time.
- Custom tags, shared across stores: tags live on the main account and are shared with sub-accounts; names are unique, colours rotate on create, and you can rename or recolour in Manage Tags. Cap is 100 tags per user and 20 per product — type to create in the tagging popover, close to commit a diff, no save-button marathon.
- Filter the list by tag: multi-select in the filter panel, any-of match. Overview mode falls back to a safer path when a tag filter is on, so whale stores aren't scanned to death; list, total, cross-page select-all and scope counts stay consistent — what you tick is what you get.
- Two-step delete: deleting a tag clears it from every product; the confirm copy shows how many products carry it. The cost of a mis-click is clear — no silent wipe.
Auto-tags, then through bidding and purchasing
Tags are not only manual labels. Two system tags grow themselves, and the same set reaches bidding and purchasing:
- Automatic 「采购过」: a worker scans purchase records about every 10 minutes — any record with a placed-order number counts (paid or not); Purchasing Centre "marked processed" rows do not. Each product is tagged once; if you remove it by hand, the system respects that and will not put it back. First run backfills historical purchases.
- Automatic 「辉光选品」: products listed by Auto Select get a violet 「辉光选品」 tag (on by default in the preset, can be turned off). The tag is applied as soon as the product row is created — no waiting for the next reconcile, so a fast-tier run of thousands does not miss tags.
- Bidding "Add by tag": pick one or more tags (OR), and bulk-add buyable products in the current store that carry those tags and are not yet monitored. Quota truncation follows the existing bulk-add rules and tells you how many were skipped — it will not silently overrun.
- Tag in Purchasing Centre, filter by tag: the Title cell and sourcing dialog let you tick existing tags or Enter to create new ones; the filter menu's any-of tag filter works across every tab. Direct-mail PO detail, the scan-query dialog, and the packing board (scan banner + PO lines) all surface the tags — packers who scan "fragile" do not need to open a detail pane.
Notes and tags are internal annotations with no separate capability gate — Product Management or Purchasing rights are enough; sub-accounts still obey store whitelists and cannot tag stores they cannot see. System auto-tags honour your removals: 「采购过」 stays off after you pull it; deleting the whole tag will not quietly recreate a same-name auto-tag and paste it back on.
Real seller scenarios
- Reorder only what you've bought: purchased goods auto-get 「采购过」; tick that tag in the Purchasing Centre filter — today's queue is familiar restocks, new items in another wave, and the list is clean in one click.
- Audit an Auto Select batch: filter 「辉光选品」 to pull the system-listed set, then Add by tag into bidding so monitoring quota hits the right SKUs instead of hand-picking through the catalogue.
- Packing notes on the goods: note "two-piece set — check colour", tag "fragile" / "open bag"; scan and packing board show them large, so warehouse staff don't dig through chat history.
- Your own taxonomy: build tags like "clearance", "test listing", "watch BuyBox"; filter in Product Management, add to bidding by tag, filter purchasing by tag — one classification, three places, no three spreadsheets.
Product notes and custom tags are part of 辉光ERP — the all-in-one platform for Takealot cross-border sellers in South Africa. You can carry a large catalogue; once it is labelled, bidding and purchasing finally have somewhere to aim.
